Spring

Spring weather is finally here and once again it is a wonderful day inside the office. Can’t wait to see that green grass and feel the warm breeze!!!

Confidence

It’s amazing how much one can accomplish when confidence is on their side. Just today I stood before a $700 part our of the bowels of my vehicle with the decision, do I wait days, spend more money, and get the correct part, or do I change this one so that it is the right part? Well I pulled out that part and grabbed my hacksaw. An hour later I had the proper part for the job. Faith is believing not only in yourself, but more importantly in God. (Did I pray…yes there may have been a series of prayers in there, but their was no weeping, praise the Lord!)

Fresh Berries & Wild raspberries

Ah the new scent of my latest candle is crossing my desk and makes the mood most pleasant; “fresh berries & wild raspberries”! It is a glade mixture of great comfort. Anyways just wanted to let people know that I hadn’t fallen off the edge of the world I just forgot my password. Now that I have found it I will blog a little more when thoughts arise. Blessings!

Samson – an ordinary man?

SamsonI have always thought our visual concept of Samson to be slightly misleading. Most of it just doesn’t make sense. Samson was born into the Nazarite role, and therefore had great strength since birth. This strength allowed him to perform great feats of strength such as tearing a lion apart with his hands or pushing pillars down in a temple. Such things I don’t even attempt in my dreams. Sometimes I take on the house cat in a battle of strength, but even that can become dangerous. Later Samson would lose his strength after the last of his nazarite vows was broken. I do not know, or pretend to know if one had to keep all the vows to remain a nazarite or if one had to break all of them. Reguardless Samson lost his strength when his hair was shaved. This left the man helpless. This is where my thought comes in. What if Samson was just an ordinary man with muscles like me? What if Samson was an ordinary man with no power of his own but only what God gave him? If Samson had huge muscles then it would be the muscles that gave him power, when his hair would be cut he would still be incrediably strong (according to most pictures I have seen of samson). In my experience God works through those that most would leave behind, not the best, but the least. That is where He chooses to show His greatest work. Therefore it would fit that Samson would be an ordinary man, with extra ordinary strength. How much more would the power of God be shown through the hands of an ordinary man than the hands of a muscular giant. what are your thoughts?
